Our furry friends are there for us through thick and thin, sickness and health, but what can we do to keep them happy and healthy? There are so many things we do on the regular to take care of our beloved pets, from regular walks, clean drinking water and quality food, the list goes on... Below I want to dive into some maybe not so common tips and tricks to ensure your pup is taken care of.
1. Be nice!
We all adore our pups however I'm sure I'm not the only one who has gotten a little short with my furry friend on occasion. Dogs can't quite understand emotions like we do and can get really sad and down when their carers are angry at them. Instead show them affection, it may just help you as much as it does them.
2. Good health starts in the tummy
Having good gut bacteria is essential for good digestion which in turn keeps your pup feeling good. Ensuring you aren't changing their food too frequently and giving them the best quality nutrition is one way to help this. Another fun little way to spoil your furry friend is with a good for them treat! Zeus absolutely loves Doglato which has Synbiotics to help keep him feeling great. As a plus he absolutely loves the taste and it is made from all natural ingredients. Not going to lie it tastes amazing and yes I have tried it myself!
3. Play serve and return games
Games where they do an action (bring a ball, tilt their head etc) and you follow with a response, this stimulates their mind and helps build that connection between you and pup. These games can be super fun and bring out your inner child also.
4. Spend quality time with your pup
Everyone is so busy these days and its easy to get caught up in the stresses of your day to day activities. Making time for your pup is so important not only for their health but also yours! Spending time going for a walk outside, playing together or even just cuddling can be one of the best things you can do for them. Make sure this time isnt interrupted by the devices and really make the most of it!
5. Teach all dogs new tricks
Keeping their minds active and stimulated is essential for raising well behaved and happy pups. Teaching them new tricks is a great way to keep their mind active and always learning. As an added bonus regularly training your pup ensures they are disciplined and respond to your commands quicker. To make training easier, try using treats (such as Doglato!).
Be safe and have a pawsome day!
